BioWare lays off part of Star Wars: The Old Republic team

The Star Wars: The Old Republic team is lower today, as Electronic Arts studio BioWare has confirmed a series of layoffs in the team behind the game of science fiction online massively multiplayer role. The co-founders of BioWare, Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, called the ruling a "restructuring" in a public statement.

Zeschuk and Muzyka, celebrate the release of The Old Republic last year.

"Unfortunately, we are sure to dismiss talented and passionate, and unusually industrious who have made SWTOR a reality," the statement said. "The impact on the lives of people in this way is always very difficult, but we make sure those affected are treated with dignity, fairness and respect. "
