judge says murderer with a fetish for cutting hair of women than ever will be published
Danilo Restivospend the rest of his life in prison for the murder ritual of the mother of two Heather Barnett after a judge ruled that the crime was so "inhuman depravity" must never be freed .
Restivo, who had a fetish for cutting locks of hair of girls and women, seamstress Barnett died in his apartment in Bournemouth before maul her body and placing a lock of hair from another person in your right hand and a group of his own in his left.
Restivo, an Italian national, is now facing extradition for the murder of 16-year old Elisa Claps in the attic of a church in Potenza, southern Italy, in 1993. Strands of hair left on his hands and side of his body.
Restivo was convicted in only five hours by a jury in the Crown Court for the murder of Barnett Winchester, 48 in 2002.
All 12 jurors decided to return to court to hear sentence Restivo. Some wept when they heard a victim impact statement read on behalf of Barnett's daughter, Caitlin, 11 at the time of the murder, who found the body when he came home from school.
sentencing, Judge Burnett Restivo said the killing was so severe that there is no minimum term would be appropriate.
"The seriousness of this crime is exceptionally high ... the depravity of the murder, careful planning and preparation, sexual content and murder of Elisa Claps before leads me to conclude that the alternative starting point (for a prison term at least) 30 years would not be appropriate.
"I can not find mitigation in this case, no progress was made in his name there, in my opinion, there is no minimum period that can be configured correctly. - Do not be released from prison. "
The judge said the crime was "inhuman depravity", compounded by the fact that Restivo had known the children of his victim's body.
He said, "you know that 11 year old and a 14 year old find his mother murdered in the bathroom This feature of the case were to persecute those who through it ..
"Why did you choose as a victim Heather Barnett do not know, but it is clear that to satisfy an appetite sexual sadist. The evidence in this case shows that you are a cold, depraved murderer, calculated. "
- Restivo is now the subject of a European arrest warrant and should be extradited to Italy - where the case has attracted great interest -. To be tried for the murder of Palmas
Detectives told the grieving family were strong Restivo became operational in February 2003 because he would get a thrill from it.
Mr. Barnett said. "Restivo and his wife, Fiamma, Heather attended the funeral and wake the neighbors were at the time, he was one of the suspects about 10 or so
