Although most studies on gender scholars and students are women, people like Jeff Hearn and Michael Kimmel opened the way to increase the number of men to contribute to university studies of gender, the contributions that have been unequivocally welcome. In this context, if a student of gender studies should present a crude "good women, men bad" analysis, which never caught on to watch the counting.

Finally, gender studies courses are extremely friendly and supportive environments. Unlike congestion and compliance in many academic fields, students and scholars of gender studies are tolerant, respectful, informed in their attitudes toward race, sexual orientation and transsexuality. Gender Studies is consistently more sociable than other academics, and all types of people are welcome, provided they are willing to engage with people and ideas in an attentive and respectful. If you are involved in the fight against discrimination and prejudice in academia, gender studies is a poor choice eccentric target.
