The first four remained out of reach of Newcastle United as the summer came to an abrupt end in the last game against Everton. Alan Pardew side were beaten convincingly while Tim Cahill was sent off in the final seconds of taking Everton for Yohan Cabaye throat. Neither the club, however, will head into the summer house too many regrets.
Pardew had said before the meeting with the arrogance that has flirted with Champions League qualification had put Newcastle in a different league to Everton. They were certainly on separate plans at Goodison, but not as Newcastle manager that the team would have designed David Moyes visitors dominated throughout the first half.
Newcastle almost scored inside the first minute when Hatem Ben Arfa a free kick hit the mark Papiss Cisse and John Heitinga and forced Tim Howard in a desperate attempt to save the line purpose. Howard has appeared 183rd consecutive Premier League - equaling a record set by Jose Reina Liverpool - but do not bother to return to Newcastle suffered a tactical necessary revision in the second half
Pardew replaced both back-end and full of havoc with Ben Arfa, Newcastle has been significantly improved in the second half fell further when Heitinga headed kick past Krul near beach Darron Gibson. - Fortune favored Everton referee Andre Marriner both in response to an input with both feet on Cissé Heitinga - received one yellow - and to take the lead when Steven Pienaar 25-yard shot hit Mike Williamson and Tim Krul on loop. Superiority, however, was undeniable and it is not surprising when Everton doubled their lead. The identity of the scorer does not offend either. Nikica Jelavic shoulder Fabricio Coloccini started to collect a long pass Heitinga well Krul was equal to a shot at close range, Croatian regained his balance for excellence in the bounce house movie on the right foot.
Howard saved well from Demba Ba and Cisse before being beaten by itself a soft object Tony Hibbert. Everton defender has never scored on the right goal for his club, but found the net when Ryan Taylor cross was headed beyond the promotion of Howard.
