Rey Theatre affectionately considered the center of the pantomime of the city, the king has a long tradition as a music hall and is widely used by local amateur groups. The Edinburgh Show, Band, led by scouts and guides, was the order of the day here since 1960. Furniture theater were victims of their own success, with heavy use, leaving much of the look of the theater. A rehabilitation project should be continued in 2012 and will see a new box office and improved disabled access. Despite being listed, the building of 1906 is very much alive as an example of the legacy continues to meet demand.

Church Hill Theatre
Built in 1892, this former church is now a leading Scottish amateur theaters. It is likely that the adaptations capture along the lines of income, Footloose and Copacabana. Owned by the City Council, "the Churchy" is an active center of the community through Morningside Coffee Loopy Lorna independent property, next to the box office, occupies most of the ground floor. Above the auditorium is 350 and its high threshold is very popular among most fans of Edinburgh, theater companies and dance.
