United States unemployment drops to 8.6% while Obama announces package of energy efficiency and other political news of the day
Hello : a rare good economic news of the Obama administration is the culmination of the day, while the Republican candidate for the Herman Cain presidential fight the latest accusations in a series of television interviews in mourning.
Coinciding with the decline in the unemployment rate in the U.S. at 8.6% - the lowest since early 2009 - President Obama will appear with former President Bill Clinton to submit a plan of 4 billion dollars to improve the energy efficiency of buildings in an effort to improve environmental management powers and boost the construction sector. In Congress, a constant struggle to extend the reductions in labor costs, as Republicans and Democrats voted against their respective regimes in the Senate - with a large number of Senate Republicans cross the floor to vote for their own proposal.
11.30: Bill Clinton is now talking about introducing President Obama and explain its role in promoting energy efficiency plan 4 billion dollar conversion - the event takes place in a renovated office building next to Farragut Park in downtown DC.
Clinton is still the same with an ease to talk about the benefits of the proposal. "It's the closest thing we have a free meal in a tough economy," said the former president.
11:44: President Obama is promoting the package that has just been announced, and the opportunity to push the work last figure shows an increase of 100,000 private sector jobs:
This morning we learned that our economy added another 140,000 jobs in the private sector in November. The unemployment rate fell in spite of some strong headwinds this year, the U.S. economy created in the private sector, employment in the past 21 months in a row. It's nearly three million new jobs in all, more than half a million over the last four months. So we have to keep that growth going. At this point, what Congress should extend the payroll tax cut for working Americans for another year.
Congress must renew unemployment insurance for Americans who are still there pounding the pavement looking for work. Do not take any of these measures would be a major blow to our economy. Withdraws money from the pockets of Americans who are more likely to spend and is detrimental to small businesses that depend on costs. It would be a bad idea. I think it's interesting, but the road, I realize that some people on the other side were quoting President Clinton "is a bad idea to raise taxes in tough economic times," which is precisely why I tried to broaden the payroll tax this year and next year.
Obama changes tack and moves to the legislation before Congress, which saw a battle during the holidays of payroll tax will be held the night before. Obama wants Congress to approve the tax exemption, saying, "This is not the time to hit the brakes, it's time to press the accelerator."Can Obama threatens. "If Congress can not leave, and we can all spend Christmas together here"
This is not a possibility that someone gets excited.
24:04:
more about the unemployment figures, including President Obama has just polished as the 11th consecutive month of job growth The creation of nearly three million jobs. The U.S. economy added 120,000 jobs in November, the Department U. S.. [Artment of Labour said today is the economy created 100,000 jobs or more for five consecutive months - the first time this has happened since the heyday of the month of April 2006 . In addition, the revisions add another 72 000 jobs growth in previous months.
But the underlying picture is less bright. The unemployment rate fell to 8.6% but that's because there were 315,000 people less active in the labor market.
CEPR economist Dean Baker explains that fewer opportunities for women were behind the decline in labor force participation:
The decline in participation was entirely between women and especially black women. (Among married women, employment rose by 194,000, so it was not the case for women as second generation leaving the workforce.) Numbers participation of white women declined by 199,000, an down 0.2 percentage points. The decline of black women was 164,000, a decrease of 1.2 percentage points. These monthly figures are very irregular, and it is likely that at least some of this decline will be reversed in coming months. However, there was a downward trend in participation rates of women in both black and white, even before the fall of November. This suggests that there is a real problem for women to lose access to employment, but the figures may show some reversal in December
24:27:
Speaking of keeping back the Congress for Christmas, the next game looms expenditures for the next two weeks, when the Bill of emergency funding in recent races off and the possibility of a government is shotdown back on the agenda.
Budget Director of the White House, Jacob Lew, told reporters that the Republicans are delaying the $ 900 billion in overall funding, insisting on tacking on abortion legislation and the environment, the environment, and show agreement on the budget earlier discomfort agreed in August.
24:40:
Andy Kroll of Mother Jones magazine sat down with a calculator and I realized that President Obama has an average one every five days to raise funds for the year in preparation for "what is becoming one of the most bruising, cash-drenched campaigns in history":
Obama is the money trail because he enjoys ballroom hotel and posing for photos with 1-percent. The acceleration phase president of fundraising reflect the changing landscape of money in American politics, especially since the citizens of the decision U. S. Supreme Court. Clinton and Bush II does not have to worry about specific candidates for super-PAC and Karl Rove, dark crossroads GPS equipment to raise tens of millions of dollars to finance negative ads. And with the collapse of the presidential public financing system, which crowned the expense of a candidate, it is up to candidates to crack the private money as much as you can in the arms race of the season.
There is a very interesting comparison with the previous Clinton and Bush administrations: the same pre-election period, while Obama has 69 fundraising, Bush held 41 in 2003 and Clinton only 23 in 199513:00:
Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain is traveling back to Atlanta today to meet his wife Gloria, for the first time since white ginger revealed its 13-year relationship.
Cain suggested that she could leave out of the race - which takes effect without speculation, as this piece in the Daily Beast, who waited before saying in paragraph 16 of its readers:
sources close to the campaign say that Gloria Cain wants her husband to abandon the race and has no desire to do additional interviews about their marriage or the charges constant. They describe a woman angry that her life was turned upside down by his need for attention and husband, the power by any means.
it would be "a source close to the campaign to attract readers to the Daily Beast," perhaps? Nevertheless, the campaign announced today that Gloria Cain Cain will play a new role in the campaign and launching a new site, the women of Cain:
Gloria Cain is the National President of "Women of Cain" and is a very special woman that Mr. Cain has spent his life several years ago. M. Cain and Gloria celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary this year. They have two children and three grandchildren and a legacy of family, friends and community participation and the church.
1:19 p.m.
The best part of women of Cain is the site of messages of support to the partisans of Cain (apparently). They're really a cry - or scary, depending on your moodAngela
Schudy of Nixa, Missouri, writes:You are a triple threat on the left! I think these "women" are looking for money and attention and were organized by the "Demonacrats" very bad actress. "The left is desperate and are low enough to break the law and lies.
Karla Heidt Queen City, Texas, writes:
do not believe for a "women" who accused him. I think you are a God-fearing man who loves his wife and children. Do not let Satan and his demons win. Stick to the will of God and stay in this race.
Catherine Harris of Knoxville, Tenn., has some tips for Herman Cain:
experienced a situation where some people had experienced more than 35 years sent me 100s of time, at any time of day or night, and I sent them again based on the worldview encouraging - even agree with me that I was right and attacks against me were unjust. There were gifts exchanged, with messages such as "my love has no limits", another term of endearment based on positive associations, dinners and other support. Not only was the real non-sexual , where I'm concerned, they tried to destroy the same time harboring a convicted pederast -. In an activity youth in the community
Gloria Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas
Hello, Herman Cain, you need to focus on the American or even listen to women, who have nothing good to say about you ... are hungry for money ... and women like this, do not care or have no shame in television ... to use falsehood for money ... someone paid this woman. It makes me sick to my stomach.Cheryl Vaglienti
Georgetown, Texas also:Dear Mr. Cain
'm 66 years old female architect in the State of Texas and simply means ... like a real woman do not believe one second of one of these "women" who emerged from under a rock somewhere to defame and bring the pain you and your family. There are at least unfortunate, and evil at best. Is not it convenient that suddenly become offended by the progress expected after so many years now, my God, poor children, how were naked under the pain of all those oh so many years ... Liars, liars, liars ... Herman and go for them PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE !!!!
1:39 p.m.
Therefore, it is Cain to leave or stay? My guess is: stay in. You do not pre-announce a withdrawal one day beforeHere are some breaking news:. Herman Cain Cain said the campaign will be an "important announcement" in Georgia tomorrow
1:56 p.m.Herman Cain "important announcement" looks more like "announce" that will stay in the race. The "announcement" is reserved to arrive in a park in Atlanta, not a place to end a campaign.
He also plans to open a campaign office in the morning, George. So in conclusion. Meh
ginger root problem is the last white women asking a 13-year term relationship with Cain. Last night I appeared on MSNBC, where he was interviewed at length by Lawrence O'Donnell, and spoke of the payments he received from Cain in recent years:2:06 p.m.
Cain
O'Donnell: Have Cash
- White: Yes. It does.
- O'Donnell: Always cash
- Blanc. Always cash O'Donnell: And he said he has helped others in this way. Did, did you ever talk to you to help others in the same way?
