brochure makes extravagant claims about a conspiracy to control pro-European British media
Today sees the publication of a booklet of guilty men, written by journalist Peter Oborne Telegraph. Arguing that "the political class tried to link the fate of the British to the euro" has all the exuberance of the rococo style characteristic of its author. The brochure is published by the Centre for Policy Studies, whose director spent his life in the trenches of the struggle against the EU, the ideological war, and would be happy to have a date on the journalist right to produce high Oborne conservative brochure. /
Its release coincides with the increasing emergence of a group, made up almost half of the Conservative caucus dedicated to the ideology of neo-isolationists that Britain would be better outside EU. Britain is one of the weakest economies in Europe, with almost no growth, a huge deficit, high inflation and rising unemployment. However, there is a belief among commentators solipsistic right we give a lecture in Germany, Finland, Estonia, France and the Netherlands on what to do.
wing EuroscepticOborne belongs to those who follow the principle of "simplify, then exaggerate". He argues that there was a plot to control the media so that the truth about Europe will not be visible in the British people. The plot was led by Rod Liddle, then editor of today, and the CBI, the UK's premier organization for lobbying firms. Liddle can speak for himself, but the IWC has opposed any expansion of the EU in recent years.
Oborne's fair to say that Philip Stephens, Financial Times writes that perhaps the occasion of the EU as a whole is good. But against the massed ranks of commentators Murdoch newspapers, mail, express Telegraph newspapers and throwing pieces of anti-European news and commentary with a vigor and enthusiasm, the idea that the media were bribed complicity with a pro-European line is nonsense.
- Simon Jenkins and Max Hastings also stars in that spaceship against the euro, because among them are written almost half of the columns you read, there is little room for other views. Broadcasters have their obligations of impartiality, but that does not stop Nigel Farage be on Question Time or other matters more than any other elected politician -. Despite showing no effect UKIP in the elections to municipal councils or local
Business
Fundamental facts remain unknown to the general British public. According to the House of Commons library, only 7% of our laws of European origin. The total EU spending represents only 1% of GDP in Europe. The BBC employs more people than the European Commission and to pay much larger salaries.
Peter Oborne ignores facts like these when he painted his portrait of a production secret Protocols of the Elders of Europe of betraying British interests. He titles his dam men guilty after the famous pamphlet of 1940 Michael Foot and others who have criticized the isolation of the 1930s.
