Rt Hon Simon Burns

MP, Minister of State Health explains why the bill of health and social is good news for the north of England.

The government is committed to NHS accessible to all, free at point of use and as required and not ability to pay. That is why we are increasing the NHS budget in real terms by investing an additional £ 12.5 billion over the life of this Parliament.

But with the NHS across the country to meet the challenges of an aging population and high cost treatments and technologies, this additional funding will be insufficient to preserve the NHS for future generations. Therefore, with the extra money, reform is also necessary.

Bill

of Health and Social Care NHS reform will have three simple ways.

First, it will give patients greater control over their care.

Second, you must hand over power to doctors and nurses at the forefront.

And third, it will reduce bureaucracy - the release of a total of £ 4.5 billion in savings during this Parliament to reinvest in the line of patient care first - and fewer than 15,000 managers and administrators

We are already in the north. Male and female accommodation in Northern England fell. Only 106 offenses during the last month, compared to over 3,400 in December 2010, MRSA infections have been reduced by one third since 2010

We were able to achieve this by being open and transparent about the care that hospitals across the north of England to deliver. But with transparency, just for the empowerment of patients can continue with these improvements.
