If you want to attend the registration, send your name to scienceweeklypodcast@gmail.com before noon on Friday, putting "live from the Historical Museum of Natural registration" in the subject

Gangs of young children gathered and school groups back in their cars on Friday as the Natural History Museum of London in the steps for adults only at night to drink and dinosaurs.

Science

discovered is a free event to celebrate the European Researchers' Night 2011 online with 800 outlets across Europe. In London, scientists will run behind the scenes tours at the museum, the realization of interactive experiences and show the world what they are doing in their labs all day.

Science

Guardian Weekly Podcast team will be there, recording an episode in front of a live audience.

There will be plenty to do. In "The Seasons of Science", Scientific tables man charged with the paraphernalia of their research and museum material of great behind the scenes collections. "There will be real things, you can pick up and have a good look," says Oliver Crimmen, Curator of Fishes at the NHM.

zoology station will also contain some of the strangest memories of field trips to Burma Crimmen. "I have a fish with big teeth you have special channels in the skull ... it's amazing to see where the teeth when the mouth is closed."

There may be some surprises

bit agitated. "I can guarantee that there will be live specimens," says Crimmen.

On the space station, Dr. Caroline Smith, curator of meteorites and a partner in the UK Space Agency's Aurora, will be very precious few items on the screen. "People can say they've found a meteorite. Will be the oldest thing ever seen ... about 4.6 million years."

For even more macabre emotions late at night, I plan to attend a lecture by Dr Silvia Bello, who will be showing a cup of skull found in Gough's Cave in Somerset. "It goes back about 15,000 years and is a human skull that has been modified to produce a container. This shows that there was a process of cannibalization on this site."
