The decision, said his brother Ibrahim, was obvious.

most notable are the corruption charges against Yameen Gayoom's half-brother Abdullah, during his time in the Organization of State-owned trade. A forensic report accounting firm Grant Thornton, and a piece of investigative journalism by CNN-IBN correspondent Sumon Chakrabarti, both show that Yameen had directed a plan to buy oil at reduced prices through ADR before selling the Burmese military junta in the black market prices.
